Like most people I was introduced to fishing by my grandpa. We would visit
neighboring ranch tanks to catch bass, catfish, and sunfish while using my trusty Zebco 303. Fishing became a passion
ever since those first visits and firmly took hold when we bought our
first powerboat. My senior year my best friend's dad introduced me to
kayak fishing, and I never looked back.
When I was attending college at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi I spent my time exploring and chasing reds on the expansive flats around the campus. In 2006 I was asked by JerryB's Kayaks to fish on their company's team. As a member of their team I got the opportunity to fish tournaments from South Padre Island to Sabine Lake, meeting many friends along the way.

In 2008 after graduating college I made a surprising decision to accept a
job in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, 6.5 hours from the coast.
Although I don't make it to the coast very often the move turned out to
be a smart one. Firstly, I became the Dallas/Fort Worth Coordinator for
Heroes on the Water in 2009. Secondly, it opened my eyes to all the
wonderful waters Texas has to offer that I never would have thought
exploring had I stayed in Corpus Christi. So, join me as I explore the Waters of Texas.
